Stop South African Weed Orchid

Golden Point Landcare Inc. is inviting the local community to learn more about South African Weed Orchid (Disa bracteata) which is spreading across central Victoria.
South African Weed Orchid is a perennial terrestrial orchid with underground tubers. Dormant for much of the year, it sprouts in early spring with a rosette of leaves, followed by flower spikes developing into seeds as the weather dries out during summer. Now is a great time to locate and identify the plants before they set seed.
Learn key identifying features of the plants as well as practical control techniques that you can implement on your property.
