Restoring landscapes across the Mount Alexander Region

Local Landcare Facilitator

Since early 2012 Connecting Country has employed a Local Landcare Facilitator to support the work of community land management groups in the Mount Alexander Shire.

Initially, funding for the position came from the Victorian Government’s $12 million Victorian Local Landcare Facilitator Initiative grant, to provide local Landcare support up to June 2015.  The Victorian government has since extended the funding several times, most recently until June 2021.

The Victorian Government has provided the funding for local Landcare groups or networks to contribute to the salaries of facilitators who will support the work of local Landcare communities to protect, enhance and restore our natural environment and to work towards becoming self-supporting.
