The North Central Catchment Management Authority (CMA) is seeking Expressions of Interest from community members for appointment to its Natural Resource Management Committee (NRMC). EOI for NRMC close this Friday 11 October 2013.

The CMA notes that the NRMC is ‘an integral part of the Authority that provides a community and local perspective to the work of the North Central CMA in the regional community.  The NRMC also supports the organisation and provides advice to the Board on both project activity and community engagement at the strategic and operational level, as well as participating in local natural resource management activities.’The North Central CMA anticipates that the NRMC will be made up of members with a diverse mix of skills and broad geographic representation across the North Central CMA region of Victoria.  Applicants who possess strong links to their local community are encouraged to apply.  Knowledge of natural resource management in north central Victoria is preferred but not essential.

Intending applicants should have the availability to attend up to six formal NRMC meetings per year and various other project meetings and the ability to represent the North Central CMA at relevant community events.  It is anticipated the total commitment of each member will be 12-15 days per year.

NRMC members receive sitting fees and reimbursement for travel and other expenses associated with NRMC business.  Appointment is for a two or four year term.  Intending applicants can obtain an information package from the North Central CMA by calling (03) 5448 7124 or from the North Central CMA website.

Connecting Country is not seeking to have a formal ‘representative’ on the NRMC.  However, it would be terrific if someone who supports our aims and objectives joined the NRMC as an advocate for good natural resource management in the Mount Alexander region.

Expressions of Interest marked ‘confidential’ and addressed to Mrs Sonia Robinson, North Central CMA, PO Box 18, Huntly Vic 3551, will be accepted until 5 pm Friday 11 October 2013.
