The state government is considering making changes to the regulations for permitted native vegetation clearance. A few weeks ago, Connecting Country made a submission to the government in regard to a consultation paper about this (see previous blog). A number of organizations are concerned about the implications of the new rules upon areas of remnant native vegetation. For those that are interested, there is an upcoming public forum in Bendigo on the issue.
