Restoring landscapes across the Mount Alexander Region

Catchment

A catchment is an area of land that is naturally bounded by hills and mountains, collects rainfall and run-off and delivers it to low-lying points in the landscape such as rivers and streams. Mount Alexander Shire is predominantly in the Loddon River catchment and the eastern areas are in the Campaspe River catchment. Both river catchments form part of the Murray Darling Basin.

The region falls under the jurisdiction of the North Central Catchment Management Authority.
