The Barkers Creek Clean-up Project was initiated by the Barkers Creek Landcare Network in 2011, to enhance community engagement and awareness across the Barkers Creek project area.
The aim of the project is to reduce the growth and spread of Blackberry and
Gorse, on private and public land, by working with all land managers to
implement appropriate control measures. Participating landholders may be
eligible for financial support. Funding for the Barkers Creek Clean-up Project
has been provided by the Victorian Government’s 2011-12 Landcare grants,
the North Central Catchment Management Authority and the
Victorian Blackberry and Gorse Taskforces.
