The Community Web Mapping portal has been developed by Spatial Vision
in partnership with Connecting Country. The application enables people to
map a range of environmental information such as flora and fauna
sightings, weed locations, remnant protection areas, revegetation sites
and other sites of significance.
These records can then be shared with other users against a backdrop of
Google Maps, Google Earth and the Spatial Vision mapbooks. Photographs
of sites can be attached together with links to external websites. The
application is being tested through the Connecting Country project and
will evolve over time as we explore its use and gain feedback from
users.
